In the Axis Properties for that axis - Remember to check the "Drive Enable Input Checking" on the "Drive/Motor" tab.
Also remember that this input NOT is a safety input. Go for the Kinetix 6000 with SafeOff to get a Cat3 / Sil2 solution.

The drive enable input is checked, thank you for the response. I have been checking the drive status bits when the drive stops.
I have noticed that bit 0 (Servo action status ) goes low every time. Bit 1 (Drive Enable Status) goes low about half the time. Bit 11 (Drive Enable Input) is always high.
So I am not losing the input from the E stop circuit like I originally thought. I can not find any information on what might case me to lose the (servo action status bit) without a fault or stop command from the plc.

Are you sure that no fault is occuring when the drive stops?
Try to look at the knowledgebase Answer ID 26830.
What settings do you use in the "Fault Actions" tab under axis properties?

I had the same problem. In my case it was the loss of one incoming phase.
Martin.
