Guidelines for Use
The Rockwell Automation forum is a place where owners (or prospective owners) of Rockwell Automation products can discuss their products, ask for help and help others.
Rockwell Automation does not provide technical support ssistance through the discussion boards. If you need direct customer support help, please contact us. A TechConnect support contract may be required. Our employees and moderators do follow the discussions, and may drop in from time to time.
If you want to get help on using the boards, check the online help and the Forum Usage and Suggestions board. If you have a question, please ask. We have highlighted some of the forum features in posts to the Forum Usage and Suggestions board.
Courtesy
- Search first – Search the forum (which also searches the Knowledgebase) or your question before posting, in case the question has already been nswered.
- Provide details – Be specific in your post. Provide the technical details others will need to understand your situation and help you.
- Stay on topic – Don’t change the subject of a thread in a reply. Create a new thread if you have a
new topic. Remember, too, that these boards are intended for discussion of Rockwell Automation products. - Mark the solution – This forum system allows you to mark a post as the solution to your question. See the post on how it works for details. This helps everyone easily find the answer.
- Be responsible – Use the information provided by your peers responsibly and safely in your systems. Follow the guidelines below about posting content to be a responsible user of the boards.
- Be thankful – Make sure you acknowledge the people who help you.
Posting Guidelines
Posts appear immediately, but moderators monitor the posts. Posts that violate guidelines may be edited removed by a moderator. Rockwell Automation will try to handle problem posts in a timely fashion, but we are not responsible for delays or failures in editing or removing such posts. Users that repeatedly violate guidelines or other rules may be banned from the forum temporarily or permanently, and without prior warning.
- Commercial messages/promotion/spamming – These boards are ntended for problem solving, not business development.
- Illegal or offensive posts – Posts that are illegal, obscene, pornographic, abusive, inflammatory, libelous or objectionable or injurious in any other way are not allowed. Race, religion, politics, national interests, gender, sexual orientation and other such characteristics or issues are off-topic, and are not allowed.
- Harassment/flaming – Baiting, flaming and other personal attacks are not acceptable.
- Intellectual property rights – Post your own thoughts and materials only. Do not post anything that violates or infringes someone else’s copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets or other rights. Do not link to sites that participate in such behavior.
- Harmful or inaccurate posts – Do not post information, materials, links, files or other resources that contain viruses or other code intended to disrupt, damage or reduce the efficiency of any computer, server, web site or system of board users.
